Exhibition
The Bodyblocks Show 2011

The Bodyblocks Show was the third exhibition in a series of ‘body’ themed group shows hosted by Exposure Gallery and curated by Leah Hawker. The work shown was a playful collection of body photography, presented on blocks, by a mixture of upcoming and established photographers. The brief asked for photographic works connected to the body; be it political, private, public, personal, sensual or playful.

While the works on exhibition were mixed, Ive made selection of my favourite images of women from the show.

The Chronicle covered the show,- article by Katja Hamilton.

And some pics from the opening of the show.

PORTRAITURE: A nude in gold

This was a purely for-fun shoot which I completed in March 2011 in my studio. I had already done one similar shoot all in pink and this was a follow on in the series.

We drew about 10k in small and medium bank notes as props and I bought a bunch of gold props and fabrics. I painted an old found headboard and side table and broken chairs I’d found in a derelict yard near the studio as well as an old telephone, and other porcelain found objects. It was a nice project in set building a detailed postproduction.

Below is a screen grab from the raw, working files. You can see how much changed in postproduction in this final image above.

And some screen shots taken from the video footage…

MATERNITY SHOOT
With Jax & Sascha

I did a lovely, spontaneous, short and very natural maternity shoot with Jax and little Sascha on the beach and in studio, both with natural light.

SWIMWEAR EDITORIAL: Beach Daze

I shot this short swimsuit story in early 2010 on Camps Bay beach. The theme was for the images to look Summery, playful (friends hanging out at the beach having a beach day) and relaxed.
