(Please note: This is the “archive” of the collection of shoot props (generally lingerie/womens attire somehow) that I have gathered over the last 11 years of my career.
They are catalogued by number, and description for now as well as any other relevant information about their individual histories- how I came to have the items, what shoots they might have been used for, etc.
The style in which I document an item may vary according to the type of garment/object it is).

#65 – Bra
Black lace underwire bra from La Senza, 34C. I bought this stunning piece at a La Senza sale about 9 years ago. They had a bridal range, all in cream and and duplicates in black. This is super delicate favourite which I’ve used in a few shoots.

#66 – Panties
Pale, luminous yellow, seamless thong, size medium. I bought these specifically for a “Housewife” shoot which I haven’t yet published…

#67 – Bra/Bustier
White lace bustier with padding and underwire. I bought this piece at a Chinese shop surprisingly. At the time it was hard to find this cut in SA and I’ve used it in many shoots since. The included are just two examples.

#62 – Panties
Black satin and lace thong, size medium. These knickers were bought for a Playboy South Africa Shoot, Miss July 2013 I think, but never ended up making it into the shoot.

#63 – Bra
Black lace, soft cup bra, size 36B. I almost forgot SheBear existed. This design is one of theirs. There’s a factory shop which sells lingerie in Woodstock, they stock brands like this one, Wonder Bra and Jockey for example. I bought this about 9 years ago and added it to the collection.

#64 – Panties
Black lace string. These came from Pandoras Box, a vintage clothes shop that existed in Cape Town a long time ago. They’ve definitely had better days but I like them for their 70’s style cut and old lace textile.

The Client Christmas Card 2013/4

This was Alan Walt and my 4th collaboration together.

Alan is a South African architect based in Cape Town who I met around 2007 when he approached me to shoot one of his end-of-year/Christmas cards which he sends out to his clients, usually late, but none the less around the December/January mark.

The end of year client card is a space for him to collaborate with artists and to create a thought provoking and generally provocative (when working with me) product of some kind to share with the people he has worked with during a year.

Alan usually comes to me with a starting point of some kind from which we grow an idea which I shoot. The 2013/4 collaboration intended to incorporate the “AWA” (Alan Walt Architects) logo into the cut out wedge of the models high heels. A play on power and rather reminiscent of Helmut Newtons nudes,- the model stands strong and dominantly. She stands on the clients brand (via the logo cut wedges in the heels) at the same time she’s incapacitated by wearing the heels as well as the blindfold.

The project morphed so that by the end we produced a 48 or 72 piece A4 puzzle from the image which would be delivered or sent out to his clients.

The below images show the camera RAW files in Bridge (Photoshops editing software) as the images get edited down to a final selection for the project.

Alan messed around with some of the images (below). He printed out the above files and cut them up to resemble the beginning of a collage shaped as a “W”. I like this idea better in hindsight and maybe we’ll still put it together one day as a print for his office.

Below is the first proof printed puzzle and lastly, I gave the model (a friend and also a photographic assistant in our space) a copy. I left the piece stacked up in a little mysterious pile on her desk for her to find and assemble when she came in to work.

#58 – Panties
Black lace strappy thong made in Thailand, size “XL” but actually a small. These were a gift from my aunt when she lived Thailand about 8 years ago. They’re fun, comfortable and a surprisingly good fit.

#59 – Panties
Mr. Price, yellow lace with black stretch mesh, g-string, medium. I bought these (part of a three set) for a Playboy photoshoot in 2013. I think I may have used one of the other pairs in the set for a PR image but probably never used these.

#60 – Panties
Blue mesh stretch thong with black polka dots and ruffle detail. These were part of a gift from my cousin but not quite my style and so they went straight into the collection. They’re one of those annoying cuts where the gusset is so long that the hip bands end up sitting way to high making one feel like you’ve returned to the early 90’s. Just goes to show how many minor design changes happen over years with underwear which can totally place it to an era.

#61 – Panties
Pale pink, La Senza thong which goes with a matching negligee. This tiny pair of knickers is yet to be used in one of my photoshoots. I bought it, with its matching negligee at La Senza when they still had a huge factory shop and everything went for cheap-cheap.
